Love Presentation Contest

Language/Culture Class Students
The LA Korean Education Center and Jellanamdo Office of Education supports outstanding students
by awarding scholarships through a Korean Culture Presentation Contest, with
the goal of selecting and encouraging students who are diligently studying the
Korean language and Korean Culture language at accredited middle and high
school students in the United States.
Details regarding scholarship eligibility requirements,
required application documents, and submission deadlines are as follows:

Important Information Teacher Recommendation Guidelines: ◦ Each School
can recommend up to a maximum of 10 students ◦ Recommendation
should be listed in order of priority: -Teacher’s Recommendation Google Form: Only the Korean Class Teacher + Korean culture class teacher are

The school and district will be alerted in the event of a faulty
recommendation. All teacher information will undergo verification by KECLA. |

Korean Culture I Love Presentation Contest
2.
Eligibility:
a.
Middle and high school students currently
enrolled in a Korean language class at a regular (accredited) school
b.
Must be recommended by the teacher in charge of
the Korean language class, Korean culture class, or after-school Korean
language program at a regular school
c.
Student who previously attended school in Korea
must have completed at least four years at a regular school in the United
States (as of the application deadline)

Competition Category: Select only one:
a.
Student Interpreter: Must speak in Korean for at
least 60% of the presentation (3min)
b.
Student Ambassador: Must speak in Korean for at
least 20% of the presentation (1min)

Award: Once decided, student cannot change the
presentation language preference

Selection Criteria
a.
[Preliminary Round] Selection: Candidates for
the final round will be chosen based on video evaluation
i.
“Korean Culture I Love” Presentation Video (5
Minuties)
1.
Student Interpreter: Use Korean for at least 60%
of presentation
2.
Student Ambassador: Use Korean for at least 20%
of presentation
3.
Presentation Duration: 5 Minutes
4.
Background & Orientation: Plain white
background, landscape orientation
5.
Framing: Appear in the frame from the waist up
6.
Attire: semi-formal clothing or outfits and
props appropriate for presentation topic

Korean Class Grade: Average grades since Fall
2025

Years Enrolled in Korean Language Class
v.
For those who pass the preliminary round: Submit
additional presentation materials (choose format: PowerPoint, Google Slides,
PDF)

[Final Round] Selection: Rankings will be
determined based on presentation evaluation for candidates who passes the
preliminary round. (Preliminary scores will not be considered)
i.
Competition Format: 5-minuties presentation
according to the selected language preference from application.
1.
Student Interpreter: Use Korean for at least 60%

of presentation
3.
Participants may use attire, props, or other
visual aids
ii.
Evaluation Criteria: Content and organization of
the presentation, clarity and accuracy of delivery, and overall attitude.
iii.
Results & Awards: Scores will be tallied
after the last participant’s presentation, and winders will be announced and
awarded
7.
Application and Competition Schedule:
a.
March 15, 2026, 11:59 PM: Deadline for
submission of video, teacher recommendation
b.
March 31, 2026: Announcement of preliminary
round results and final round instructions (via website and individual
notification)
c.
April 17, 2026, 6:00-9:00 PM (PST): Final round
presentation evaluation and wards ceremony (at the Korean Education Center in
Los Angeles)
