Korean Heritage Program 5-1 is designed for students of Korean heritage as well as students from diverse cultural backgrounds who wish to gain a deeper understanding and interest in modern Korean language, history, culture, and traditions. This is an advanced-level class for learners who are able to write paragraphs in Korean, read storybooks, and speak Korean with fluency.

In this course, students will study Korean vocabulary, various expressions, and grammar through structured textbooks. They will also be introduced to Korean proverbs, commonly used Sino-Korean characters, Korean children’s literature, and Korean history through a wide range of supplemental resources and audiovisual materials.

Korean 5-1 is offered online and meets two hours per week.
